Why is there so much resistance to 5G?

 

Fifth Generation (5G) technology is the network that provides fastest downloads with the use of mmwaves. Its implementation requires thousands of connection towers within small area otherwise these waves can disappear with the presence of a small obstacle like trees or a building. Communication using 5G tech needs to have at-least one antenna per meter which, for sure, can affect public infrastructure.

Strikes Against 5G:

A large number of people are against 5G implementation. On 25 January, 2020 many Romanians came out of their houses to show their conflict about functioning of 5G internet access. On the same day in Canada, Dublin (Ireland), Zagreb (Croatia), Carlsbad (California), New York (NY State) and in many other cities worldwide, many citizens showed their concern about the harmful effects of 5G on environment. Around hundreds of scientists and demonstrators protested against it in Brussels on 26 January, 2020. Few same strikes were also reported in June, 2020 Downtown Los Angeles (US). The impact of 5G is felt so much that 25 January, 2020 named as 'Global Day of Protest to Stop 5G on Earth and in Space'. Question comes in mind why people are so much concerned about its impact even it is providing fastest internet services and saving a lot of time?

Reasons that answer this question are:

The radiations (Radio Frequency) that are being used in this tech have harmful biological effects on humans, birds, pollinators.

In humans they can cause cellular damage, genetic harm, brain cells malfunctioning leading to cancer, irregular heartpumping, memory deficits, insomnia, and headaches.

It has been observed that birds, in the regions where 5G is operated, are also having problems. Birds have issues related to their flight. Being shocked by such potentially harmful radiations, birds suddenly fall from the sky on the ground in a condition that is similar to death. The eggs production of birds is also badly influenced; de-shaped eggs are found in the regions where 5G is working. Various behavioral changes are also observed in these birds. It is seen that some birds were trying to attack 5G communication tower, as if they knew it is causing them harm. They have started migrations from the areas where 5G is implemented to the areas where it is not present.

Pollinators like honey bees are one of the main reasons that make us see variety of colors and smell natural fragrances of flowers around us. The curse of 5G has also disturbed their lives and thus is affecting flora and fauna of the earth.

Apart from health issues, 5G internet is also costly as, being wireless, it consumes more power than fiber optics.

On a serious note, Governments are because of their citizens. If there will be no citizens, there will be no Governments. So, Governments of such countries that are trying to have race in implementing harmful technologies should think about their citizens first. They should first talk with scientists and health associations about injurious effects of any technology, and should take safety measures before implementing any services on their own.
